Workspace‑as‑a‑service in Gibraltar – Regus opens offices to help businesses find flexibility

Reading time:  2 Minutes

The British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar has earned its stable reputation in a few different ways. Firstly, there’s the solid 426m high Rock that dominates its headland. Equally, the territory has made a convincing and steady climb up the International Monetary Fund World Economic Outlook Database of GDP per capita rankings.

And now Regus is helping businesses in Gibraltar scale up. We’re opening collaborative and adaptable office and co-working space in the World Trade Center – a state-of-the-art building close to the airport. We’re also encouraging existing foreign businesses to set up satellite offices in the region to further enhance and enrich the local business environment.

Pete Burgess, Head of Sales and Marketing at World Trade Center Gibraltar commented:

“Regus is a FTSE 250 company and for them to be investing in Gibraltar is fantastic news. It is testament to their belief in the future success of Gibraltar and a ringing endorsement of Gibraltar’s commercial policies and actions to date.”

The business environment. With its positive tax regime and strong regulatory environment, Gibraltar has become an attractive base for e-gaming and financial service businesses. However, the authorities have not become complacent in their success. There’s still room for growth in the area, as ongoing investment in infrastructure offers more potential ventures for new businesses. This can be seen in the state-of-the-art World Trade Center Gibraltar building situated close to the international airport.

The physical environment. Fortunately, it’s also an attractive place to do business too. The weather, coastal waters and infamous Rock attract over 11 million visitors a year. It’s a dream spot for the many workers looking to improve their work-life balance in the future.

As working practices change to meet the rising demand for workspace as a service, attractive environments are becoming more and more valuable. Key desirable features include warm and sunny weather, good links to European hotspots and nearby business connections to keep up trade and productivity.

Entrepreneurial spirit. The Gibraltan government has been keen to encourage small businesses and entrepreneurial activities in recent years. Their progress has already been seen in the success of their latest Business Nurturing Scheme.

If these trends continue, we can expect Gibraltar to grow from strength to strength in the years ahead.
